Anton Julian Ferdinand (born February 18, 1985, in Peckham, London) is an English footballer. He is currently playing for Sunderland in the English Premier League as a defender after being signed from West Ham United for a reported £8 million pounds.
A product of the famous West Ham youth academy and brother of Rio Ferdinand, his transfer to sunderland was a highly controversial one as he and team mate George McCartney were sold beyond manager Alan Curbishy's wishes, resulting him resigning with immediate affect just days later.
