Kenwyne Joel Jones (Born October 5, 1984) is a Trinidadian born footballer currently playing for English Premier League side Sunderland. He joined Sunderland at the end of August after signing from Southampton for a fee of £6 Million. He has went onto become Sunderland's third highest leading goalscorer in their premiership history. His performances have lead to many pundits describing him as the new Didier Drogba.

In June 2008 he gained a knee ligament injury by crashing into England goalkeeper David James in an international friendly game putting him out of action until November, in which he returned in the derby victory against Newcastle United. He then fully recovered by scoring back to back goals against Blackburn Rovers in the league and Carling Cup, these were his last goals under Roy Keane before he left the club.

He made his comeback from injury against Newcastle in the 2008/2009 season, and quickly went on to score back to back goals against Blackburn. After Roy Keane's departure Jones form then flourished and he built up a partnership with Djibril Cisse, whilst in the same season he rose to become sunderland's third highest premier league scorer of all time.

However the partnership with Cisse did not last due to his sudden departure from the club, however many even failed to regard it as a partnership as the two players did nothing on the field to directly assist each other, and seemed both work for themselves on the pitch than each other. As Cisse's form declined at the end of the 2008/2009 season Jones became the club's top goalscorer for the 2nd season running, having scored 12 in total (10 league, 1 league cup, 1 FA Cup).
