Lee Barry Cattermole (born 21 March 1988 in Stockton-on-Tees, England] is an English professional footballer who currently plays for Sunderland as a midfielder.
Cattermole started his career at Middlesbrough F.C., a product of the clubs highly successful youth academy. After three years at the club, he moved onto Wigan Athletic where he was signed by current Sunderland manager Steve Bruce. After just one season, he moved on with Bruce to sunderland for a fee of £6 million.
Cattermole also features for England-U21, and he represented them in the 2009 U21 European championship, where they reached the final only to loose 4-0 to Germany.
