Peter Hartley born (born April 3, 1988 in Hartlepool) is a member of the Sunderland first team after rising through the academy since joining the club in the year 2000. He made his first and his only sunderland appearance in a 2–0 win over leicester on January 1st 2007. In February 2008 he was put out on loan to Chesterfield, along with team mate David Dowson.
