The Sunderland A.F.C. Wiki is an online encyclopedia based around the famous english football club Sunderland A.F.C. and the city of Sunderland itself. The wiki started in early December 2007, requested by The sunder king.

The aims of the wiki is to establish the ultimate and largest source of information on the internet relating to Sunderland the city and Sunderland A.F.C.. There is no encyclopedia on Sunderland in exsistence other than this one, and for that reason this is why this site was created; so people from sunderland and not from sunderland can have a genuine chance to research this city in depth. Knowledge is a great gift and many people do not truly know what Sunderland has to offer, this wiki has been created to change that. The sunderland wiki wants to raise the image and identity of Sunderland, and link every organisation and business in the city in a positive way for the good of everyone living there.

We hope long term to establish this website as one of the "hubs" of sunderland on the internet, eventually becoming one of the largest and most popular Sunderland websites with a large and active community. It aims to help people take pride in Sunderland, and help rise tourism and awareness about Sunderland. Our duty is Sunderland, and we hope yours is the same.

The articles evolve around Sunderland A.F.C. history, managers, players, youth players, stadiums, famous fixtures, derby fixtures, events, chants, rivalries, owners of the club, websites, fanbases, statistics seasons and sponsors, as well as all about the city of Sunderland including famous locations, city history, city culture, city information aswell as famous residents of the city and famous people who the city has produced.
