Under new managementEdit

7th July 2009 Central Wikia have accepted an adoption request from Bravemackem following the fact that there had been no administrator activity on the Wiki since februrary and the site was starting to rot away with inapropriate pages and spam beginning to circulate. Since december 2007 the wiki has undergone several periods of inactivity and neglect because of a lack of frontline serious work on the site which has lead to little reputation and attention, seeing the huge potential of this wiki fall flat on it's face.

The inactivity of this website is to be sorted through a new community building reigime, an influx of new articles on essential subjects to rise the sites importance, and heavy work expansion pumped into exsisting pages. This new wiki reigime is also complimented by the 200th article on the wiki, the Roker Roar.

Out of the darknessEdit

4th July 2009 The Sunderland wiki became dead for some time and it looked to have fell into the continually growing wasteland obvilion of abandoned websites throughout the internet, activity became very, very sparse aside from a few random edits a month and many articles regarding players and the club fell long out of date.

However from the beginning of July 2009 efforts are now being made to reassure that activity booms once again on the wiki and that and it can evolve into one of the largest Sunderland sites on the net. A large influx of new articles on minor and major subjects are now being created in order to encourage more edits to the site to improve them and set an example of what subjects it covers, to also ensure that this wiki can become an actually worthy read by internet users to increase interest, reputation and editing, and also to boost the wiki's relevance and hits on google so pages from this wiki can appear higher up in search results and hence boost the rate it is used.

The article rate is nearing 200, and there are still thousands of articles needing to be created regarding sunderland players, safc history, city history, city places, city attractions, city buildings, sunderland individuals, sunderland books, sunderland media, sunderland seasons, sunderland suburbs, sunderland statistics, and many more subjects. If you think about it we have only begun to scratch the survive in building an actual encyclopedia regarding Sunderland, and even then a great deal of the exsisting pages need expansion, cleaning up, referencing, and copyediting. There's a lot to be done and major activity is required to achieve this, so inactivity is not an option.

Dicuss and Interact in the forum!Edit

The newest addition to the wikia is the Forum a new step forward in communication on this website. On the forum you can dicuss Sunderland topics, how to improve the site, and ask for help in various subjects. Be bold and don't be afraid to use it. Civility rules must be followed though like on the rest of the site.

IRC ChannelEdit

As well as having a forum since 2008 the sunderland wikia has had a IRC Channel, which is known as #Sunderland on the freenode network. You can read more about it here
